My name is Pam and I am 52 years old. I was diagnosed with Sciatica from a bulging disk in 2006. I was flat in my bed for 5 weeks while I received the steroid shots. I wished I could have died during that pain. No one understands until they go through it. The pain came back in 2011 almost as bad. Again, I was flat on my back in bed for 5 weeks. The shots did not work that time. One good thing, they found a tumor on my ovary the size of a cantaloupe because of the MRI. I had a hysterectomy in August of 2011 and I had a discectomy in September of 2011. I was diagnosed with RA in February of 2012. The sciatic pain started to come back in March of 2013. I had some more shots, they did not work. I am taking a nerve pill now, without results, so I am possibly looking forward to a fusion.
Besides all that, I have had two C-sections, two knee surgeries, and have broken my tailbone twice. I have had an RF Ablation on my heart because of an irregular heartbeat, and I have Bell’s Palsy. I think that is all, for now!
I am also a Christian. Without the Lord I don’t know how I would make it. I can talk to him about how I feel and tell Him all my deepest secrets, and I know He won’t judge me or talk about me.
This nerve pain is so bad. It messes with your body and your mind. You can say your back hurts or your arthritis is acting up, but to normal people that does not mean a thing.
I am new to this, but I would like to help out other “newbies” too. Right now I only take a 2.5 mg steroid pill, Folic Acid, and Methotrexate. Join me on my journey.
